Weight Of The Words

Oh how the words on the paper bleed

Even the ink now silently pleads

Pen complains but I pay no heed

May thee be weighed down-the one who reads

I’ll watch as the paper slowly turn crimson

Painted by thy tears, thy own prison

Distant now the tears blur thy vision

With the words thy heart can’t reason

I hear whispers,

Oh it’s the weight of those words you can’t carry

The paper you write on bleeds and the pen is weary

Will the story long remain untold, unheard

And must you bear the weight until you’ve written every word!!!
