Forgotten Fairy-tales

I have long since forgotten the fairy-tales
Walking now and then I often hear their screams and wails
The books on my shelf, In bookstores, In sales
They’re dying-Guess sometimes the magic too fails

Still they whisper to me
“Our magic will heal your soul
Sew the torn seams

And make you whole

But I have now stepped into the big bad world
Where the pain is real and fairy-tales absurd
No magical romance or Cinderella nights
Just the baseless judgement; the wrongs and rights

Time and time again I hear them whisper
Pleas cutting at my heart like fiery scissors
But I pretend not to listen
Forgotten fairy-tales must remain forgotten!
